FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bethesda, MD, May 28, 2009 – Case Design/Remodeling Inc., one of the nation’s most respected remodeling companies has seen an interesting trend in kitchen remodeling over the last several years. Kitchens are still an extremely popular home improvement project, but in today’s economic client it is not rare for homeowner’s to be a little more “frugal” when it comes to designing their kitchen.
The kitchen has become the focal point of the home and is not just a place to cook and eat meals anymore. Kitchens are used as a place for entertaining, doing homework, paying bills, and surfing the Internet. According to Case Design/Remodeling, Inc. President Bruce Case, “Kitchen remodels are still one of the most popular projects, but homeowners are now more careful about how much they are spending on them.” Adds Case, “What’s nice about a room like the kitchen is that there are so many options and price ranges when it comes to countertops, appliances and cabinets that can really affect the overall cost of the project.”
Case has been so focused on this trend that they recently launched Express Kitchens by Case. Express Kitchens by Case offers a lower cost alternative to a custom kitchen remodel. It allows you to completely update your kitchen within your existing space. Homeowners can select from hundreds of popular name brand product options all with a shorter construction time than a traditional remodel. Express Kitchens have become a very popular option for many area homeowners because they can get a brand new kitchen complete with Case quality advice and workmanship all at a great price.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bethesda, MD, May 5, 2009 – May is National Home Improvement Month and is an important time of year to focus on your home. With the difficult economy, we are all looking for ways to be more efficient and our home is no exception. Below are simple things you can do to make every room in your home more energy efficient.
The Kitchen
Replace older appliances with energy efficient models.
Repair any leaky faucets that can waste gallons of water.
Use your microwave to reheat or cook smaller meals.
Save water by scraping dishes instead of rinsing them before loading in the dishwasher.
Save water by washing full loads in the dishwasher and utilizing the air dry option.
The Bathroom
Install a ventilation fan to control moisture in the air.
Cover and seal all holes that lead from bathroom plumbing, ductwork or electrical openings.
Take showers instead of baths to save water.
Repair any leaky faucets that can waste gallons of water.
The Living Room
Install a ceiling fan to enhance air circulation.
Caulk and weatherstrip around windows and door frames that leak air.
Close the flue damper tightly when not in use to stop air-conditioned air from easily escaping the house.
The Basement
Turn down your water heater thermostat to 120° F or lower.
Check your HVAC system's air filter once a month and replace it at least every three months. Have a licensed contractor conduct a check-up of your system to ensure all parts are working properly.
Use cold water whenever possible when washing your laundry.
Caulk and weatherstrip around windows and door frames that leak air.
To save water and electricity, wash and dry full loads. If you must wash a partial load, reduce the water level appropriately.
The Home Office
Enable power management features on your home computer and monitor.
Use a power strip as a central "turn off" point when you are done using equipment.
Turn off all machines when not in use (i.e., fax machines, monitors, printers, scanners, copiers).
The Attic
Seal duct connections and seams with duct sealant or tape to eliminate leaks.
Promote natural attic ventilation by adding a gable or soffit vent.
Seal hidden air leaks and add insulation.

Bethesda, MD, May 5, 2009 – Case Design/Remodeling, Inc. joined leading area businesses in support of the 2009 Hands on DC Work-a-thon on Saturday, April 25th, 2009. Hands on DC featured hundreds of volunteers from around the region making improvements to more than thirty DC public schools. The Case team was assigned to Cardozo Senior High School in Northwest, DC. Several team members helped with projects like hanging blinds and cleaning out classrooms. The majority of the team worked on an outdoor mural. With a design inspired by artist Keith Haring, an 80’ mural was created. “Everyone was all smiles at how amazing it looked and how easy and fun it was to do”, commented Mary Englert, Assistant Project Designer with Case and Case Hands on DC team coordinator.
“Participation in Hands on DC is a great investment in our city and the future of our children,” says Case President Bruce Case. “Our staff also gets the satisfaction of contributing to an outstanding cause and seeing the worthwhile results of community spirit and camaraderie.”
Hands on DC is an all-volunteer project that creates better schools and brighter futures for students in the District of Columbia. Thousands of volunteers have a great time each spring as they join together for a one-day work-a-thon that improves conditions in the public schools and raises money for college scholarships. Since 1994 more than 26,000 volunteers have created a better environment for learning in over 120 schools and have collected more than $500,000 to help local students pay for further education. Case Design/Remodeling Maintains an A+ Business Rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB)
Bethesda, MD – February 25, 2009 - According to the Better Business Bureau (bbb.org) Business Rating System, Case Design/Remodeling maintains an A+ standing. Nationwide, the BBB provides reports on more than four million businesses. The goal of these ratings is to help consumers more easily and quickly identify and compare the reliability of businesses.
The BBB's proprietary ratings formula takes into account 16 weighted factors, using objective information and actual incidences of a business's behavior that have been verified and evaluated by BBB professionals. Ultimately, a letter-grade rating represents the BBB's degree of confidence that a business is operating in a trustworthy manner and will make a good faith effort to resolve any customer concerns.
Rating factors also take into account BBB's opinion as to whether business models and industries operate in violation of the law, misrepresent products and services, and are likely to generate trade practice concerns and/or have high levels of customer dissatisfaction.
“At Case we take great pride in our goal of providing an exceptional client experience on every job”, says President Bruce Case. This is evident in the Case Theme, “Clients for Life”. Included in this theme is a desire to understand client needs, offer quality advice and the expertise to develop a project that is right, professional and courteous staff, quality workmanship and materials, work that is done right, and good value for the money. “We are proud of the high marks we’ve received through the BBB and strive to maintain this every single day” adds Case.

Money Saving Kitchens Remodeling Options
Money Saving Kitchens Remodeling Options
Bethesda, MD, December 16, 2008 - The days of no-expense-spared kitchen remodels may be waning, but the demand for functional, attractive and efficient kitchen updates remains quite strong. Why? Because in most homes the kitchen is the hub of family life, and everyone benefits from a kitchen filled with light, counter space, sitting areas, and modern appliances. And for those with thoughts of resale, the kitchen is still the room most likely to make-or-break a perspective buyer's opinion - so updates make sense for appeal and faster sale. The key to keeping costs in check is to look at your kitchen's existing strengths and layout. Case Design/Remodeling Inc. offers some money saving advice to help consumers.
- Alternative Cabinetry - Since cabinets are one of the largest expenses in a kitchen remodel, most cabinet manufactures offer many lines of great quality cabinetry at different price points. One way to save money is to select value over absolute top-of-the-line features and still receive excellent craftsmanship and hardware. The savings may be significant.
- Appliance Value - Many manufacturers are offering appliance packages that give consumers significant savings rather than selecting individual appliances from different vendors.
- Keeping Major Elements (plumbing/gas lines) in Place - Designs that do not have to reroute the major elements in a kitchen make the job more cosmetic than structural and still provides you with a new kitchen at a fraction of the cost.

Kitchens that Work: Elements that make a Kitchen Space Functional
Kitchens that Work: Elements that make a Kitchen Space Functional
Bethesda, MD, December 11, 2008 - The most efficient and attractive kitchens offer a perfect blend of great use of space and complementary accessories in an attempt to maximize functionality and keep organization in check. Case Design/Remodeling Inc offers five design elements that make a kitchen work.
- Appliance "garages" built between the counter top and cabinets to conceal coffee makers, can openers and frequently used small appliances
- Tilt-out sink front bins take advantage of otherwise unusable space and create convenient storage for sponges and scrubbers - again, keeping clutter off the counter top
- Message centers - organize notes, mail, magazines, keys and everything else for multiple family members - and keep clutter off tables and counters
- Roll-out shelves make otherwise inaccessible space useful for the storage of pots, pans, or seldom-used appliances
- Tray dividers - typically located in the cabinets near the oven - create vertical partitions to separate cookie sheets, muffin tins, and other awkwardly-sized bake ware

Home Upgrades Come with More Functional Kitchens
Home Upgrades Come with More Functional Kitchens
Bethesda, MD, October 16, 2008 - Case Design/Remodeling Inc., one of the nation's largest remodeling companies has noticed an increase in kitchen remodeling in homes that are more than ten years of age. Many homes built a decade a ago have kitchen areas that have become non-functional to the homeowners and are not corresponding with their current lifestyle needs.
Over the past ten years, the role of the kitchen has changed dramatically. The kitchen has become the focal point of the home and is not just a place to cook and eat meals anymore. They are used as gathering places and a place for doing homework and crafts, paying bills, and surfing the Internet. Homeowners are remodeling their kitchens in order to fulfill their desire to entertain. Kitchens are expanding to make room for larger appliances, islands, fireplaces, and comfortable seating areas.
"Today clients want a space to entertain guests for parties and get tog ethers," says Mark G. Richardson, President of Case. "They also wanted to create a destination where the kids could congregate for homework and crafts. Older homes have limited space for cooking and entertaining."

Converting Bathrooms Into Spa-Like Retreats
Converting Bathrooms Into Spa-Like Retreats
Bethesda, MD, October 9, 2008 - Case Design/Remodeling, Inc., says one of today's most popular remodeling trends among homeowners is the decision to convert bathrooms into spa like retreats. Case President Mark G. Richardson, CR says homeowners are expanding the size of their bathrooms and adding larger fixtures such as separate showers and baths, bathroom furniture and decorative fixtures with the goal of transforming their space into more comfortable and stylish area. Some of the most popular trends are free standing baths, whirlpools and above the counter sinks. Homeowners are also adding more color to their bathrooms with hand painted sinks and dual paint color schemes to the walls.
"Many of our clients are knocking down walls in order to make their bathrooms larger," says Richardson. "They want a beautiful, relaxing space, almost retreat like." According to a American Standard Bathroom Habits survey, thirty percent of Americans would be willing to spend more than $10,000 to remake their bathrooms into the ultimate dream space. Richardson see this trend increasing as homeowners start to invest more and more of their income into their homes.
