Case Joins Forces with Homes for Our Troops to Lend a Helping Hand to Frederick, MD, Veteran
Bethesda, MD – March 16, 2011 – Case Design/Remodeling, Inc., a leading D.C. Metro area home improvement company, today announced that the company has signed on as the general contractor for a Homes for Our Troops project in Frederick, MD, The Case team will donate its time and skills throughout the four-month project to benefit injured U.S. Marine veteran Sgt. Adam Kisielewski and his family. Specifically, Case will oversee the project including coordinating local trades, site supervision, quality control inspections and obtaining local permits and inspections. Case, Homes for Our Troops, and a number of volunteers will hold an opening ceremony on Friday, March 25, at the construction site located at 11492 Daysville Rd., immediately followed by a Build Brigade. From March 25 to 27, the Build Brigade will work to complete the construction of the entire home, including roofing, siding, windows and doors.
Founded in 2004, Homes for Our Troops is a national non-profit organization that assists veterans and their families by collecting donations of money, building materials and professional labor, as well as coordinates the process of building a specially adapted home, free of cost, to the veteran and his or her family.
Kisielewski lost his left arm at the shoulder and his right leg below the knee when an explosive device detonated near Fallujah, Iraq, in August 2005. As a result of his injuries, Kisielewski's current multi-level home is not completely accessible. A specially adapted home, designed and built to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Energy Star program's guidelines, will enable Kisielewski to have more freedom and independence and live comfortably with his family.
Bruce Case, president of Case Design/Remodeling, said, "Case is honored to contribute to Homes for Our Troops, and we welcome the opportunity to help repay Sgt. Kisielewski and his family for the incredible sacrifice they made for our country. We encourage everyone in the Frederick area and anyone who is willing to help to join the Build Brigade as we kick-off our efforts to provide a new-and-improved home for Adam and his family."
