Kwasi studied architecture at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana where he earned a BSC. Design in Architecture and a Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture. He has been in the home remodeling industry for over eight years, and has been a part of the Case Design Team since 2006. He is Green Advantage Certified in residential construction and recently earned his CKBR certification. Kwasi specializes in large scale residential additions and interior renovations. He enjoys the challenge in finding creative design solutions for his clients.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family taking walks in the park, swimming and reading to his little girls.
Upon leaving Virginia Tech in 2001, where he studied Architecture, Herman came to Case as an assistant designer and has been working in the residential remodeling field ever since. As a Senior Designer, he enjoys designing the transformation of the existing structure and determining how the new space will impact the family's living there.
Herman and his wife live in Leesburg, VA. They have three children, Alayna, 6 Lilly, 4 and Bradley, 4 months.
Kevin has been delighting clients with his creative home remodeling designs for his entire professional career. Since graduating from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Kevin has been an integral part of the Case team for the past nine years. What Kevin enjoys most about his role is seeing a client who is excited and happy with their project both with the initial designs and with the finished product. He takes a lot of pride in being a part of that.
In his free time Kevin enjoys spending time outdoors playing golf, tennis and basketball. He also likes running and cycling. He spends many weekends traveling to see friends and family who live within driving distance.
Amanda joined the Case Architectural Team in February 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. During her time in college, she studied abroad in Germany and experienced how another culture approaches residential and commercial design. Amanda comes to Case with over seven years of on-the-job experience in both residential and commercial design holding positions ranging from Design Intern, Freelance Architectural Designer, Graphics Assistant and Project Manager.
Amanda lives in Berwyn Heights, MD with her husband, Craig. In her spare time, she is heavily involved in soccer and presently plays on a coed team at District Sports. In addition, she regularly participates in Revolutionary War reenacting with her father. She and her husband also enjoy traveling, playing video games, and spending time with their 2 dogs and cat.
Ellen Linstead Whitmore
Ellen recently joined the Case team as an Architectural Designer. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Architecture) from the University of Michigan and a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Oregon. Ellen has worked for both residential design/build companies and commercial architecture firms performing the roles of designer, job captain, and draftsperson. What Ellen most enjoys about what she does is solving problems and turning a client’s existing house into the home of their dreams.
In her free time Ellen enjoys hiking, gardening, skiing, and spending time with her husband and two children.
Micaela joined the Case Design team in January 2014 bringing with her over ten years of expertise in the design industry, the last seven years focused in the Residential Kitchen and Bath field. She holds a BA in Interior Design from Marymount University. While attending school, she also worked as a consultant in a lighting showroom where she gained valuable experience that she continues to use in her designs today. Micaela is also a member of the local chapters of the NKBA and NARI.
In November 2013, Micaela joined Global Village/Habitat for Humanity and embarked on a trip to Thailand with 13 volunteers from all over the world to build a house for a family in need. Her trip to Thailand was pivotal because it reminded her why she began her career…to build, create and design.
Micaela is excited to be a part of the Case team, and brings a down to earth approach to the planning and design of her projects. She carefully listens to her clients’ needs and desires to help create a beautiful space that reflects their unique tastes.
Stephanie joined Case in May 2013 working out of the Williamsburg, VA location and has since transitioned to the Bethesda office. She grew up in Radford, VA and is a recent graduate of Radford University where she holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interior Design. Stephanie is thrilled to be a part of the Case team, and thoroughly enjoys helping her clients turn their home remodeling dreams into reality.
Outside of the office, Stephanie enjoys making jewelry, swimming and most all outdoor activities. Although she misses Radford and the Blue Ridge Mountains, she is enjoying living in metro DC and oftentimes enjoys listening to live music at the great venues throughout the area.
MJ Englert joined Case in 2006 and has several years of remodeling design experience. She has worked in both the Bethesda, MD and Williamsburg, VA offices and is presently part of the Bethesda team. MJ recently earned her CKBR certification as well. Before beginning her design career, MJ earned her BA in History of Art and Architecture, Anthropology and Historic Preservation from the University of Pittsburgh. Her passion for what she does shines through on every design she creates. She is most excited when she sees her ideas come to life and her clients enjoying their new space. MJ's work has been recognized through multiple design awards in both kitchen and bath remodeling.
Loving to spend time outdoors, in 2011 MJ hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine!
Melissa A. Grimes
Melissa is a new addition to the Case team having joined the company in April of 2012. She is a 2009 graduate of Moore College of Art and Design with a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Interior Design. She has held several design positions prior to joining Case including TSC Design and Associates. Melissa specializes in both residential and commercial design. An exciting part of Melissa’s role here at Case is being able to share her knowledge and experience with her clients allowing them to create their ideal space. The most gratifying part of what she does is having the ability to work closely with her clients, by combining their needs with her solutions in order to meet their goals.
Melissa continually works hard to gain knowledge in the ever revolving field of interior design and is currently working towards getting her LEED certification. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family. What you may not know about Melissa is that she is originally from Trinidad and moved to Philadelphia at a young age where she found her passion for the field of design.
Since graduating from Radford University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, kitchen and bath design has been Colleen's passion. She worked for a tile company for several months after graduating from college and then decided she wanted to expand her creativity into the residential remodeling industry so joined Case in 2005. Since becoming a part of the Case team, she has earned her CKBR (Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler) designation from NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry).
Colleen has always been a people person and enjoyed meeting and learning about people. She's come to love the process that we take clients through - from getting to know them individually and understanding their wants and needs in their home, to discovering design solutions that meet their expectations, and then transforming their home into a space that fits their lifestyle both functionally and aesthetically.
Colleen is married to her best friend and co-worker, Neil Shaut. They have a baby boy and two miniature Australian Shepherds.
