The new dormer is starting to take shape. The dormer will give needed interior sealing height to the master suite/study and is a nice exterior transition from the existing home to the new addition.

The scope of work for this N. Arlington cape cod style home remodel is a 2-story addition to include a full size unfinished basement, master bedroom suite, office, large family room, and guest bedroom with bathroom. An existing powder room on the first floor is also being remodeled.

The homeowners had several goals for the project. The homeowners did consider moving, but loved the neighbors and schools and preferred to stay and remodel. Both husband and wife have family that live out of the country and come for extended stays. For this reason, a comfortable guest suite with ample privacy was important. Overall the homeowners want to incorporate lots of natural light and upscale finishes.
